The inspiration for the initial concept was stimulated by the way a collar folds. This creates a more comfortable chair as well as adding a more distinct visual detail. Collar combines technology and detailed handcrafting. The reaction injection-moulded interior was followed by intense modelling. The upholstery is tailored just like a made to measure suit. Even the buttons are upholstered to match the seat cushion, underscoring the importance of every last detail.
A second version was developed without the turned down sides, which is slightly slimmer making it ideal for dinning. We were inspired by the collarless shirts (called Mao in Spanish) worn by some of the most eccentric & conspicuous leaders of the 20th century. This version is slightly lighter and thinner, making it ideal as a dining chair.
